I would like to make it, lib, abundantly clear that Honest Annon's is not a cover for prostitution. If any of my young sales assistants, firm and jutting though their breasts may be, offer 'extras' they do so unbeknown to me, in their own time, without my taking a cut, between consenting adults, and I can only admire their enterprise....
As to dodgy sales techniques, this is a vicious slur. Gently guiding, for example, elderly and confused punters to the checkout, having first filled their trolley baskets with top quality product, is not unethical, but a fine example of the Customer Service you can expect here at Annon's....
ps: The banana plants continue to fly off the shelves. I'm glad that you declined to buy one, as it's not my business practise to sell anything 'for a song'....
pps: I reserve the right to adopt any dodgy selling methods if it means that I continue to turn an honest shilling....

Do banana plants fly off shelves or do they peel off,I'm just wondering which it is.Is that an old austrian shilling by the way?

Attention littlemouse: Whether or not banana plants 'fly' off the shelves, or 'peel' off the shelves is a moot point. That punters slip on banana skins is probably more to the point. Banana plants need near-to 100% humidity, and punters are unlikely to provide that, but their failure is no concern of mine, once they've paid. Indeed, emblazoned on big signs throughout the store are the words "We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards refunds", and so my conscience is clear...
And shurely you mean Austrian schilling?? Here at Honest Annon's we accept any currency, at exchange rates fixed by us.... We even accept pre-1936 half-crowns from the elderly (because the silver content is high, and they're worth more melted down than the face value of 12 and a half p...).
Listen up Ali: You live in a swamp - the whole of Brittany is a swamp, with an inhospitable climate. Your question poses an horticultural challenge. Am able to provide consultancy on this one, but it don't come cheap.....
A powerful image you post, sonnetpete, particularly as it shows someone going a*se over tit, which a lot of our punters do, buying our stuff... As a poster it's not one I'm likely to display alongside the product. But perhaps one I'll hang the other side of the checkout, after they've paid, close to the mention "We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards refunds"....

Ha! Just stumbled upon another forum- United in Brittany - which has a Self-Sufficiency board....
It's vibrant enough, I suppose. Maybe I ought to join them. Except that they wouldn't have me! Good! I don't want to be a member of any club that would have me as a member (Groucho Marx). I want to be a member of a club that doesn't want me, which is what this forum is....
Anyway, worthy enough though their self-sufficiency board is, it doesn't come close to what this forum can offer. Look back at the postings on here - we break new ground, we push back the frontiers, we cut a swathe through conventional wisdom, the humdrum, the banal, the trite....
I will say that they conduct themselves with a degree of decorum - we're not so good at that. So play to our strengths - a kooky medley of individuals, clashing at times, but with flashes of inspiration and genius at others.....
ps: The above post doesn't make any sense at all. It's a muddled mess. Who said that posts have to make sense??
Not making sense is what I'm good at. It's what I have to offer. Each to their own....

Autumntime, and the living is easy.....
All my container plants need no watering, and the grass grows slow. Drifts of dead leaves need no leaf-blower to gather them, the wind does it for me... Leave it all, all, and it'll tidy itself up. Not a single leaf will be there by next spring. Returned to the earth, whence it came. It's meant to be...
Never added fertilizers to my borders. Never fed the lawn. It's easy. Too easy. I feel redundant. But it's all going well....
