Not a good day, have had three emails from a lady saying she is the sister of Fada's previous owner. She tells me that her sister can't cope with Fada being adopted, and that she shouldn't have had him adopted, and that a pill overdose is on the cards. We are devastated. There was another couple visiting him the next day, so they may have adopted him if we hadn't.

Am doing nothing,we adopted him from the rescue people, not his owner, so I've forwarded the emails to them. They were very odd messages anyhow. It's been a crap day as a friend just phoned to tell me their Daughter died yesterday. She had Rhett's so although unexpected could have happened anytime, but was a dreadful call. Feel like I've been to an all night party without the fun. Roll on tomorrow!

What a horrible position to find yourself in. You are right to let the adoption society deal with it and the Sister should not be putting pressure on you. It is a sad situation but the dog's welfare has to play an important part too and you are offering him a loving secure home. You adopted him because his previous owner could not cope and that situation still exists. I really hope it all turns out well.

Thank you Johnp, that is how we feel, and apart from anything else we have grown to love him in the few days we have had him.

feel for you!The rescue we got our dog from said they had taken in a dog in similar situation where the owner couldn't cope and asked them to take it in.They had it sterilised etc. and 10 days later she wanted it back but they refused.Said it wouldn't be fair to the dog to go back then be rejected again.Sounds drastic to talk of taking pills? Not a good place for the dog to go back to.He is yours now.I wouldn't give him up.He is wh

I'am so sorry to hear your newa BC. I totally agree with JohnP let the adoption society deal with the emails. I think it was wrong of the sister to send them to you in the 1st place, you are only trying to help a dog.Our condolences to your friend on loosing her daughter, it must be so heartbreaking for her. Try not to get to upset. Lots of hugs coming your way.

Thank you Sabjac. I received a message from the Rescue adoption lady, late last night. She told me ignoring the messages was best, and that Fada's previous owner had been happy about the adoption and understood it was " definitive". I was so relieved to get this from the "horse's mouth" and it was timed so I went to bed without having to worry. Fada, the star, barked ,howled and yapped for 10 mins and then...............................slept till 7.30am. Today is a new day. My friend's Daughter is at peace, she had no quality of life, and once they come to terms with her death, life will begin again for them, their lives have consisted of looking after her for 40 years.A long time.
