Regarding the lampshade - we put a T shirt on our lab bitches when they were spayed. They tolerated it very well and they could still eat easily!

Thank you for your thoughts and opinions.xx Especially Sabjac's upside down pooch!!He IS a lovely boy,BUT hates to be alone at night. Last night was the worst so far. Reading about separation anxiety, and it fits. Seems ignore at night, and ignore during the day, let him approach when YOU want it............................could be a L O N G year. but he is a lovely dog so hopefully, eventually, it will be OK.xx

Our rescue dog suffers with separation anxiety/For 3 weeks I tried the advice about ignoring her etc.(cruel really as she wanted affection and reassurance)leaving the light on.sitting in the dark till she fell asleep.Got really tired and fed up so brought her bed upstairs into the bedroom and she never moved off it or made a sound.Wouldn't suit everyone I know.Hope yours settles in.A big upheaval for him=new owners and an op. )

Last night ..................he slept!! Wonderful!!Gave him a Kong with meat in and put his basket into a box so three sides and the top was covered,he likes to sleep under the coffee table so thought the box might make him feel cosier, and left him. There were a few token squeaks but then silence till 8.30am!! He's not on his own in the kitchen,Tilly sleeps there too, so hopefully this will be the start of many more good nights.

My Bichon suffers from separation anxiety, it is common in this breed apparently. He gets very stressed out if I leave him. I tried to have him sleep on his own downstairs but gave up in the end and he sleeps on the bottom corner of my bed. Good as gold, I don't know he is there till I get my ear licked about 07.15 each morning.
I hoped when I got my other dog it would quieten him down a bit but no different. At 7 years old, I guess he won't change now.
