An odd subject at this stage in the season. No it isn't...

Never slow to acknowledge the life-enriching qualities of my fellow man, unstintingly holding in awe the skills of others, I salute Cobra for his recent posting in Song for Today:- brittanywi.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=culture&action=display&thread=6209&page=7Yes, what we have vividly portrayed in Cobra's submission is a super-abundance of water..... Oh, how we shall crave that water later in the season! I know that some of you may wonder why I mention this now... I will not let your incredulity dampen my spirits. Rain not on my parade...I shall gush....

Dear Elkay, the treatment your lettuce have undergone is NOT, in essence, the topic in question.... Some would say that it runs quite contrary to it, that it's off-topic, and another example of rampant lawlessness on this forum...
Troll, you're even worse... You're actually planning to flout what I say, throughout the summer, no doubt making rude gestures with your fingers in the direction of England all the while....

OK, annon, you have caught me out - they are in the polytunnel so definitely needed some water. Water I might add that is stored in one of my many rain water containers which, like Troll'd IBC's are all full

I didn't actually specify whether the water is for irrigating my potager, or quenching the thirst of my herd. Perhaps you could see me as one of the 5 wise Virgins, being prepared for what is to come?

Ok, fair enough, Elkay, I thought you must be referring to polytunnel crops..
Obliquely, it still raises a point about watering - that it's difficult to get right at this season with the cold... I prefer to stick with the adage 'if it's not wilting, it's not wanting', but I'm sure that you know your crop....
I'd forgotten that you grew tough meat, troll. Capturing water for them is fine by me. But for crops, it's another story....
Interesting how you both release more information after your first posts. I urge precision, and therefore manliness. Men of this forum, remain vigilant.....
