Thank you so much, Simson, was just chatting late last night to Ali 'bout your lovely looking recipe. Never having made anything like that before I couldn't judge what sort of sized tin to use. I may have to buy another jar of marmite - am still eating mine occasionally but it does say 'best before 2008' oops We're having 'a bit of a do' later this month and I want to try some different things

We have quite a few people coming and don't know what they all like to eat. We will do a cold buffet (but with warm mulled wine!) and a cold nut loaf with spiced chutney (I have made both green tom and beetroot - ooh, and we will have pickled walnuts ready too home grown and home pickled) sounds delish

Ali if you are reading this, my cheesecake recipe should be in desserts, not home baking! BTW girls I have absolutely no idea what a 2 pint loaf tin is - I can only understand measurements ;D would this be small, medium or large?

Madame Moorhen, if you are reading this ( ;D ) have you ever frozen one of your excellent courgette cakes? I made far too much stuff for Mr LK's last birthday get together and so I froze one back in September. Will it be OK to eat and if it is should I re-cook it, or just let it thaw and serve?
Sorry to hijack your thread, Simson!

I've never frozen one but I would think they would freeze OK. I would just defrost it and try a bit, and if it seems a bit odd then bung it in the oven for a bit to reheat it.

Simson I thought of that but this I think is where I went wrong trying to do Delia's Xmas pud recipe some years back. I measured my pudding basins with water and they held about 2.5 pints and I didn't know if that meant they were 2.5 pint ones or 2 pint ones - cos the amount of pud mix I made (to fit 2.5 pint bowl) was obviously too much as all the fat overflowed and was a total disaster! So do you measure right to the very brim or not?
