I couldn't keep up with our mange tout, have just picked about 2 thirds of the last of them. The are more like 'sugar snap peas' ie they have fat peas inside but are still edible

More tatties dug, but only digging as needs - one root at a time.
Sparrers are getting to the blackberries faster than I am! Nuthatches are getting to the nuts faster than me too - oh what to do......

Net the blackberries if at all possible. I've been watching the sparrows here eating the wild ones, they are hardly even turning red from green yet. Seems a bit odd. I picked loadsa French beans - yellow, purple and green.

That´s a lot of cucumbers,I suppose there is a limit on what you can do with them. They always happen all at once then the plants get diseased very quickly and it's all over in a blink. Shame can't extend it longer.

Hate you, picked about 5 but 3 were a bit manky so threw them to the chooks and the other two were sour. Never mind next year they will be better, and compared to the wild ones (about the size of a pin head they are big!). ;D This morning I picked: 8 cucumbers (aaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhh) , a courgette, loads of French beans all different colours, tomatoes, greengages and purple plums, raspberries and 3 huge summer strawbs. Yesterday I gave away 2 cucs, all the rest of the curly kale that I didn't want and most of the rest of the PSB to my English neighbour. It's not worth trying to explain what they are to the French!
