the last of the rasberries and the last few strawbs too ................. and ate them with Carte Dor vanilla (we only buy ice cream for the tubs and C-D has the best) But I'm pretty sure we've got rasberries that don't "happen" till September....... would that be right??

Swiss chard and dug up some Charlotte spuds.
Boiled the spuds and steamed the chard above them - and ate with roast chicken.

Yes, I have Autumn- fruiting raspberries too. Means I can pig-out on the early summer ones, knowing there will be more for jam later on!!

Me too, and this year I left some of the autumn ones to fruit again this summer. I won't do it again cos they are being totally swamped by the new growth (which will fruit this autumn) so it's hard to hunt them down in amongst all the foliage and prickly stems. They are all organic by the way.

Everything I grow is organic - but I thought the other 'garden' posters on here knew that from my previous threads ;D

One has only to look in the potager thread to see the discussions on companion planting, lunar planting, making own fertiliser and compost to get the picture!

I've just picked loads of raspberries and blueberries and tons of beetroot, which I don't know what to do with cos I haven't finished last year's pickled beetroot and I haven't got the time to do anything with it. Yesterday I picked a bucket of broad beans which I've only just finished shelling and some peas and mange tout. Pick lettuce every day for chooks, it's all going to seed anyway. Tomorrow will pick more redcurrants. I really need to do some garden work, not picking/shelling/freezing work.
