I'm new to this veggie patch malarkey...now you all know we have inherited a 20 yr old sparowarse (asparagus) patch.....and the is soooo much of it coming up...i don't know wot to do with it all .....so can you freeze it.......thanks elfyxx

yes you can freeze it, blanch it first. You don't have to just eat it as a starter, you can use it as a "normal" vegitable. One of our faves is sparrowgas and musshroom resotto don't forget sparrowgas soup

Bugger, so I can't give you any little baby plants at the plant swap today then. ;D That Barty is in trouble as I still have one pot that hasn't even been pricked out yet and someone told me I only need about 6-8 plants for 2 people. Right now I have about 28. I can't wait for asparagus soup!

Barty I think they all have asparagus plants, and way too many, courtesy of me at various plant swaps! ;D
I've finally got my bed ready and am about to plant mine out. They look nice and healthy and still keep pushing up the occasional little spear.
