I am not sure bombing Syria is the answer. The problem for me is that all those who oppose bombing don't seem to have a credible alternative. As for worzel gummage, time to stick him on a pole overlooking Dover with a little white flag in his hand. Does the UK seriously want this muppet for a potential leader? So glad to be in France Why does there have to be an alternative?why is the uk getting involved in another dispute at all? Better to keep its nose out of other peoples affairs. Perhaps you still think that the uk is a world player. Jeremy corbyn was voted in as leader of the party by the party members, are you against the democratic process perhaps? maybe you prefer the conservative way of voting your mates into positions of power. A quote going around the internet at the moment which is appropriate, “Why of course the people don’t want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally, the common people don’t want war: neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship … Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger.” Hermann Goering, at the Nuremberg Trials before he was sentenced to death

IMO the only way to defeat Daesh is boots on the ground and they would have to be Muslim boots on the ground

The Paris bombings/shootings could just as easily have been in the UK. The next one may well be. Do you think if the UK does nothing that ISIS will leave the British people alone. The only way to stop these deluded fanatical murderers is to take the fight to them. The question is which is best way to help our allies do this. One thing is certain, doing nothing is not an option and neither is it fair to expect others to fight what is a British problem too.

I agree, I wouldn't want to see EU soldiers being killed fighting IS in foreign lands whilst the young male inhabitants of those lands are swarming into Europe claiming to be refugees.

It's out of date, misleading and the 'soldiers' depicted are NOT entering Europe. You are welcome to your views, whether or not other forum users choose to agree or disagree but you can't make a statement and infer that a misleading photo supports it.

LOL, the pics could be 1000 years old taken on the moon it wouldn't matter, the images portray exactly what is happening in Europe TODAY.

Well whatever the rhetoric, my bet is we'll be off to bomb Syria by this time tomorrow.
Saw a very interesting programme some time ago (pre Isis)The essence was that all major powers can only exist if there is a perceived threat from elsewhere.....from reds under the bed , and now to Isis - if there is no threat then they create it. Apparently the threat from outside ensures public backing.
Perhaps we need the threat of an alien invasion; would that make mankind pull together.

'I agree, I wouldn't want to see EU soldiers being killed fighting IS in foreign lands whilst the young male inhabitants of those lands are swarming into Europe claiming to be refugees.'
Not what I meant but I'm sure these men would stay and fight if a) they stood a cat in hell's chance of making any difference in what is a 3 way civil war that has been going on for 5 years b) Had any weapons and c) could be sure their families were protected while they were away, fighting....
It's very easy to berate these people from the comfort of your own home in the peaceful country you live in....
To assume they are all 'soldiers of Islam' is ridiculous
