The gatherings were worldwide and encompassed a lot of faiths too: a message to terrorists that when it comes it it, otherwise peaceful people will not roll over and succumb, when their freedoms are under threat. I believe this act of terrorism has hugely harmed the extremist cause

Why do people think they have the right to live in another country and challenge the rights and beliefs of that country? If you live in France [or any other country] accept the laws of that country and abide by them. This is about freedom to speak about any subject, to make humourous comments or otherwise about any subject being a right in any civilised country and if you cannot accept that don't live in that country and don't buy literature which may offend you. Simples?

Things just seem to be getting worse. Jewish people feeling threatened so they are considering leaving France and the UK. People being attacked because they are Muslim. Awful times.I agree with the stand made by Charlie, free speech should be sacrosanct, but the price seems to be increasing daily. What a shitty state the World is in.

In my opinion(and I am sure someone will challenge me on this), I think the European politicians need to wake up. Anybody who leaves "their country" to go and fight for the Islamic state should have their passport cancelled and be banned from ever returning to that country. If that makes them stateless then let them go and live in the country they were fighting for.
What is that I hear? human rights? In this senario we are dealing with murderers, rapists, child killers and torturers. Not human beings in my book. If you want the luxury of human rights, learn to be a human beings.
