The new shape of France - according to Hollande......
Plans to trim down the administrative regions of France from 22 to 14 in the year 2015 (if it all goes through) A cost saving measure, it is said, by reducing the numbers of govt centres.
Brittany would become 'Manche Atlantique' (encompassing Pays de la Loire again) gaining more coastline.
I have no idea of the implications of this but will be watching.

Hmmm well I think I can understand that cutting down on govt offices and staff could save money .... which I think is why this might happen. However, I have no knowledge of politics and not deeply into economics. They could think perhaps of calling Brittany something a little more romantic than just the waters that bind it..... I'll try and find a regular info source if you guys n girls are interested in this.... Yes, the Bonnets march in Nantes on Sat .... before you ask  no I won't be joining the march - I would if I understood why but I can't find any explanation..... |

Nantes used to be capital of what was Brittany didn't it? I believe they wish to return to this status so surely they would welcome this news.  ?? |
