I had a look for the wok burner that Lib mentioned, and could only find, on the Neff site, a gas wok burner, sort of a unit thingy which you would make up you own mix- match hob.Have I missed it?

I had gas in the UK but Father in law had a nasty habit of switching it on and wandering off so at the time it seemed sensible to change to electric whereby he only had the capability to burn the house down rather than removing it from it's present location completely. So to cut a long story short we arrived in France with electric cooking facilities which last year I upgraded to a ceramic hob and I am very happy with it. More controlable than traditional hobs and easy to keep clean. Sorry I can't comment on induction hobs, that technology hasn't reached me yet, I am one of those neaderthals who thinks a mobile phone is for making phone calls. Thats a thought, can't you get an iphone that you can cook the dinner on?......watch this space.

My gas cooker turns off automatically if the flame fails or the ignition isn't pressed.Good for when I become more forgetful. LOL

BC, yep there is one in the neff range and it is part of 'build your own' combination of 'hobs' ; i.e. gas and electric plus deep fry etc. Looked at them on last refurb but too dear and too posy. The induction wok hob was, i think, made by a new zealand company that exports to the UK.

Do not buy a ceramic topped gas hob. We had a 5 burner neff with the same black glass that the electric hobs have. An absolute nightmare to clean. The electric tops are ok 'cos no crooks and nannys to try to clean around. Never got the gas one streak free and polished to perfection.
sigh
