See what you started BC. WE DO NOT WANT GAS, HAVE YOU GOT THAT FACT, GAS IS A NO NO, GAS IS NOT OUR CHOICE, NO GAS HOB CONSIDERED, GAS IS COMPLETELY RULED OUT, CAN YOU PEOPLE NOT READ THE PRIGINAL QUESTION Sure??

I agree that gas is best!!!! But, I have a friend who has an induction hob and swears by it - however, you have to be aware that all saucepans etc have to be the type which works with induction, (there is a little mark on the base). If you have a set of saucepans currently which do not have the mark they simply will not work on the induction hob and you will have to buy a completely new set.
Whereas a ceramic hob will work with anything.
As I cook alot with a Wok I have to have gas as this is the only suitable option.
I am told that IKEA have a good range of hobs - worth a look?

Induction. Neff
But have you got the electric to run it flat out.
Mine pulls a lot of power on separate breaker and thick cable.
Check your pans with a magnet.
ps still have LPG gas for power cuts.
pps if you want to spend lots there is an induction hob that has a concave bowl to accommodate a wok .... looked at one until i saw the price!

Notice the Freudian slip in the 'PRIGINAL' question? I'd say thats a sure sign that he is coming round to the idea of gas.

OK, I give in What size gas bottle and how much to buy a bottle and how much for a refill? Propane or Butane?
