One 415g tin of Heinz beans in SuperU €2.65!!!!!!
And the tins are part of a multipack which has been split.
I think they will be on the shelf for a long time as surely nobody will pay that price?

Much prefer Branstons beans anyway but that price is out of order. I've found that Leclerc own brand baked beans are pretty good and a lot cheaper......

The Heinz beans were 1.01 in Intermarche in Rostrenen today - but the beans and sausages were 2.95. I used to love the tins of beans and sausages when I was a kid - but last time I tried them they tasted awful!

Branstons do those as well but I only get them if either someone comes over or my Mum sends a "Red Cross parcel", which costs more to send than it's contents.....
The tins of cassoulet are a reasonable substitute for beans and sausages but I agree, not the same..

I certainly would'nt be paying that for Ribena! We survive on the French cordials nowadays.
However I still have to pay nearly 3€ each for a tiny blocks of Cheddar that OH stuffs in his face with crisps, peanuts, pickled onions etc in the evening. I Wonder if I should start cheese-making, especially as we have a dairy farm across the road??

I'll look out for that Sabjac. We also rather liked a spanish cheese called Morchego which is rather cheddary in flavour & texture, but again its finding it thats the issue. I make my own pickled onions now because OH likes them so strong they perm your hair from the inside out - the bought ones are positively weedy in comparison to mine! My treat to ME is a small jar of Piccallilli that I can get un SuperU quite readily!!! (Thats my lunch sorted then) I also now make up job-lots of mint sauce whilst the mint is growing so well in summer, then in depths of another winter its there to enjoy. (Thats sunday dinner sorted as well then!)

Mirabelle ..Do you mean 'Manchego Cheese' ? If so it is also our favourite , it's sheep's cheese for anyone who doesn't know and it is produced in the 'La Mancha' region in Spain..where Don Quixote comes from....Not a lot of people know that ..! The 'Viejo' is lovely, aged for at least one year.
And Heinz beans..well they are 95 cents in our local supermarket, but if we go to the coast where there are plenty of Brit shops, including Iceland they have cheap beans for about 5o cents, I also prefer Branston.... Hasta Luego, Gordon....
