No, as long as they have a role model of both sexes in their lives.

I think to offer a child the best start in life they should be brought up in a normal family unit, sadly in many cases this does not happen for many reasons. I am sure same sex couples can provide a loving caring relationship with a child but to me it is not a natural situation.
As for same sex marriage I am totally against it, Civil partnership is fine but same sex marriage is an insult to the sanctity of marriage and whatever religion it is based on. I am fed up with what is a very small minority group trying to force an acceptance of their lifestyle on the rest of us.

To be perfectly honest I really don't care one way or the other.

Yes - if only so they have someone to woof at their mother about! But seriously - "when I was a girl" - divorced or separated parents were a rarity! When I told my parents the first Mr K and I was splitting up - I had all of the "whatever happened to the for better for worse vows"...

Yes kattie person, but in your parents' day divorce was less of an option, particularly for the woman, and it carried a social stigma which it doesn't today.
In the same period gay men were referred to politely as 'confirmed batchelors' because of the stigma attached to gaydom and thankfully that's gone too..
The gay people I know are 1) intelligent and/or educated, 2)financially secure, 3) caring towards each other and other people to an extent which shames 'normal' heterosexuals that I know of the same socio-economic group.
So let them 'marry', whatever that means today. And let them be adoptive parents if they can show that a child in their care will get as good a start in life as anywhere....

annon, as honorary guardian of the forum's morals, with a hotlines to the president and God, how to you resolve your comments and this biblical quote?
"Leviticus 20:13 "'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
