the Radio 4 web site; ___________________________________ The BBC's agreement with the International Olympic Committee means we are not allowed to broadcast anything online outside the UK from the Olympic Park or Olympic venues. As a result this programme may need to be blanked for International listeners due to rights issues surrounding Olympic content in programmes. We couldn't get Radio 4 in bed this morning - but can get it on satellite

Watched opening ceremony for 10mins and reached my boredom threshold and switched off-what was it all about? If the best they could get to top the bill was Macca, that says it all!Would have switched off when he appeared anyway.

I was thinking that G4 meant something to me and I couldn't think why, then just now it occurred to me that they used to be known as Group 4 and I was sure there were loadsa problems with prisoners escaping not so long ago........ So I did a quick look and found this within an article sighting many other things.......... "In another incident in August 2011, G4S staff attached an electronic monitoring tag to the false leg of a one-legged criminal, meaning he was able to go out and leave it at home. "At a remand prison close to where we lived in E.Yorkshire, G4 were forever losing prisoners. They even let one walk out with the visitors! This was in the early 90's ... so they have never been a lot of good as far as I can see. The Telegraph link is here --> www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/9405046/G4S-previous-controversies.html
