If you cannot sell the tickets to an olympic event then shut down half of the stadium withdraw the remaining tickets for sale.
Voila, you have a sellout!
If you need to come in under budget, increase the budget until it is greater than the spend.

I was thinking that G4 meant something to me and I couldn't think why, then just now it occurred to me that they used to be known as Group 4 and I was sure there were loadsa problems with prisoners escaping not so long ago........ So I did a quick look and found this within an article sighting many other things.......... "In another incident in August 2011, G4S staff attached an electronic monitoring tag to the false leg of a one-legged criminal, meaning he was able to go out and leave it at home. "The Telegraph link is here --> www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/9405046/G4S-previous-controversies.html

On question of Olympics as no motor sport or rugby is included I couldn't care a toss, we have bought some new DVDs for the summer as most TV programs are either rubbish or sport - also bought a Kindle to do some serious reading.
On Group4 question, i worked for them in the 1970s - what a shower, they had a rule book which it appeared every member of staff did their very best to ignore. One of the best ones was the crews of the cash wagons used to get inside the bullion trucks by using the emergency hatch in the roof , this to avoid going through the normal door which had a time-lock on it- yes the alarm would go off as the hatch was opened, but the rules said the alarm had to be tested every day before setting off on a run!!!!!!!! Saved them 10 minutes which they could then use to extend tea break time!

Getting mixed reports ref olympics. All hearsay by the way. Daughter (who is flying out to america to stay with her sister for a month to miss out living in london while olympics are on) says that on tuesday traffic was terrible, on wednesday it was lighter. Now she does not have a car anymore and goes everywhere by bike or public transport so she does not get held up on a bike. She reckons that her normal commute has had all the traffic lights altered on timings. She has been to the olympic site a couple of times and is impressed by the sheer size of the site and the buildings. She was hacked off by little hitlers threatening to confiscate her camera 'cos the site was still under construction and she should not be taking photos 'cos it could be a security issue! She loves cycling and says the velodrome is as good as the manchester one. Daughter says no olympic stuff on the streets like there was for the jubilee 'cos of bans on dressing shops with olympic related stuff.
Bil and Sil are going to london on sunday for a few days because they have been able to get tickets to some 'exhibitions' they wish to see (damien hirst etc) and they reckon that some non olympic things are easier to visit.
I am going for 3/4 days week after next and will see for myself, visit god daughter who has moved to stratford. Still not happy about they way the big corporates have hijacked the sponsorship and are enforcing the rules, even to the amount of food and drink that can be taken onto the site. So will they get us for doing our own circles?

the Radio 4 web site; ___________________________________
The BBC's agreement with the International Olympic Committee means we are not allowed to broadcast anything online outside the UK from the Olympic Park or Olympic venues.
As a result this programme may need to be blanked for International listeners due to rights issues surrounding Olympic content in programmes.

It will be interesting to see if Internet radios still work - I wonder.... will try later and see what happens. Didnt realise until the other day either that there are certain words that cannot be used together in advertising outside of the sponsors advertising. I guess this happens at every games?

This is part of what the majority of complaints are about, Ali. Shops can't be decorated and there are special teams going round and having anything that mentions the banned words like olympics, 2012 etc etc removed from display or fines are imposed. For example a butcher had 5 rings of sausages in his window, made to remove them, as was a baker doing 5 ring bagel....... loads of authenticated instances. You cannot buy anything olympic, tickets or anything in the park unless you pay by visa or cash. Public told to get pre pay visa cards from Lloyds(another sponsor) if you not got a visa card.
At other games it was never enforced outside a certain distance from the stadiums as it was regarded as laughable, in the UK we agreed to look after the sponsors big time to get the bid and we have gone completely over the top.
Hence my daughters comment ref lack of seeing anything olympic on the streets unlike the mass decorations at the jubilee.
After all this still looking forward to watching the opening ceremony.
ps thats why we did the jokey pictures of us contravening the olympic rules with disposable plates.......
