We've got an all-singing all-dancing printer/scanner/fax but since we went livebox it don't want to play ball unless you unplug livebox & plug the fax into the phone-line to use it. I know there's probably a way around that but OH has just had enough with the whole thing & has forbidden any more messing around with something that works (internet that is, not the fax It's something that I may need in the future & the day I need it I'm gonna need it quick, so I've started to investigate on-line fax services - anyone got an particular recommendations? this being an example of one I've found service.toofax.com/mail/Emailing_Nn_20091201/index.php?email=info@transform.fr

We hardly ever use the thing but we do have a solution that seems to work Annie Our telephone line comes into the house and the first socket, where it splits 3 ways. (using the filter things) The first two go into the apartment (1 to the livebox and 1 to a phone) The third goes into the office. Jacqui just needs to slip the cable out of the back of the office phone and into the fax to send one. No need to unplug the Livebox and it does not kill the internet while she does this. I tried following the instructions that came with the printer/fax/copier thingy but for one reason or another it does not work. If we leave it plugged in the other phones in the house WILL NOT ring. Due to a total lack of interest I gave up looking into it. We only send half a dozen fax's a year so I can live with it.

Wish I could help AnnieD, but I avoid the livebox like the plague. The link below may help. livebox.tomhallam.co.uk/I have set lots of all in one printers up to various routers, wired and wireless, and never had major problems. Always setup as a local printer with PlugnPlay unticked (even when it is a network printer) unless you have a stand alone print server, and setup a tcip port with the ip address of the box. I have heard that a few of the domestic boxes do not support a fax line and try to put everything out as voice, but this is hearsay. Blu, lots of companys still want fax not emailed documents. Finance companys still insist on faxed proposal forms. Crossed with BartyB's post. Have used BBurp soloution in the past.
