I am feeling seriously spooked. I have over the past few weeks I have been in the process of plannning a road trip around the USA. Last night, at 11.30 pm - trolling the web as usual, I saw a rather interesting link which offered a free book on South Dakota. I suspected they might not deliver as far as France but filled in my details anyway. At 10am my OH walks in and hands me a package - Yep its the book - so how does that work. Yes its a Fench post mark but blimey - how's that for service? Pretty informative too - delighted wth it

Amazon?......possibly it was in stock at an Amazon depot in France and if you are with Amazon Prime it can be next working day delivery. However, if it was posted rather than by courier I have no explanation, other than to applaud their service....
(It wasn't a Kindle book was it?)

No not a kindle book Pete No its a thick promotional book/magazine - wouldn't be sold by Amazon. Must have been courier but it was in the post box(not delivered inperson at the door) and has a French franking. Anyway I'm ompressed

ah ok......just had a thought of a pony express riding hard through the night from South Dakota with your book......though I admit the Atlantic would pose a problem or two...

They must use the new service that prints each book individually and posts. I've heard of it before for cruise ships for magazines and news papers but it sounds like they use it for books too.
