While out on our daily walks me and Dog have been watching a Dipper for a couple of weeks. It has been building a nest in a bunch of ferns in a rocky out crop by the side of a river. It has a favourite feeding spot, a very small rock that just breaks the water in mid stream.
About 10 days ago a young moorhen appeared on this stretch, nice little bird. A few days later another appeared.
Shock, Horror.
Today I find she has displaced the Dipper.
Could it be that the Terminator has decided to relocate and start a Family?
Has Madame Moorhen built a Holiday Home and set up a 'love nest' with another?
I'm not the one to spread gossip but I am a little scandalised. Looks very much like her.
What's your opinion?

Give her a rent book. She'll soon vacate.

Yes, kick her out lib. I thought moorhens preferred still water, anyway. She's obviously stupid. Compared with dippers moorhens are riff-raff. You don't want her sort moving in. Think of the effect on property prices.
ps: I used to go bird-nesting as a boy on just such a river.

Far too late for eviction, 4 dependants, and more on the way. The do-gooders will block attempts to move them on. Be a food bank appearing soon.

I have asked; but, Lady S sez 'No way is any other bird wearing my coat!'
Sorry.
