Is there a free thingey that I can download to get rid of trojans and the like?

You already have an anti-virus program running on your PC? (one, and one ONLY or you'll have big problems)
You already have some sort of anti-spyware type program? (as many as you want really but remember they can slow your system)
You have them all updated?
What do you currently use and what makes you think you have a nasty lurking in your system?

Try download Avast, works well for me , but remove Norton first, and that's difficult in itself

CC, as TJ says get method of removing norton before attempting anything. Will try to post fully later. ps are you going to 'buy' a new norton licence?

I suppose I should buy another Norton but I am a bit skintywoos at the moment. Maybe I will wait until I can. Thank you for the advice anyway. Just trying to cut corners. There is a program called 'My security engine' that is causing a lot of problems. I am sure it is a rogue one. Keeps popping up and kicking me off things.
