Wandering through the fresh meat counters here there is always cow tongue leering through cellophane. I often look at this object and remember that we had this at home, cooked and pressed. But I cannot remember if we did the cooking of it at home. Don't know if I can pluck up the courage to make it....... Found this great intro today: justcookit.blogspot.fr/2010/03/boiled-tongue.htmlHas anybody done this recently? Cooked tongue?

The locals here eat it hot with a mushroomy sauce!!! Has a slightly gelatinous texture (in my humble opinion) & I don't like mushrooms so it is never on my wish list - give me bread & butter any day!!! Bonne chance Ali! Mrs FG x

Think I will be brave - if I do feel brave shall I do some photos? I remember it being a bit like a stiff piece of ham (if that makes sense) and not fatty but sort of velvety. Think would rather try it cold and bare first before wasting a good sauce
