As the Earth and the moon are attracted to each other, just like magnets are attracted to each other. The moon tries to pull at anything on the Earth to bring it closer. Is this why one plants at certain times of the moon phase? In a nutshell, yes

You see, Elkay? There's a lot of interest in this subject.. and bewilderment (meldrew)..and scepticism... and utter, utter incomprehension.....

...although I've gotta say that Ali's reference to magnetism relies on opposite poles at work between the moon and the earth, and while it may hold true generally, for the tides, say, I can't see how it works for plants, which rely on daylight too, which daylight is normally not around until the moon has gone to bed...

you cannot moon with boots on its obscene. anyway the astronauts played golf on the moon so it must all be a golf course and you cannot dig up a golf course to plant veggies! Its against all the rules.

I have no problem, Meldrew, with mooning in boots... obscenity is in the eye of the beholder..
Moon gardening on golfcourses, or anywhere else where decent folk go, is another matter...

Is this a suitable place to thank our pink leader for the moon info positioned handily to the right?
