Am just about to place an order with: www.theasiancookshop.co.ukTo be delivered to here in 35. This is my first order with them so have no prev experience of their delivery. I've finished my shopping list of 'wants' and the total postage so far is £11.20. In their delivery charges they do say its £11.20 std postage. I'm ordering: Black onions seeds (nigella seeds for naan breads) Black beans (chin) 5 spice dried chin mushrooms hoisin sauce oyster sauce light soy sauce sichuan peppercorns star anise and now am looking around their site to see what else we fancy These are basic ingredients for chinese meals (and not available @ Lidl) I could drive to Belaisie in Rennes but by the time I've driven the 2 hour round trip it'll have cost me time and fuel and they may not have everything that I would like. I usually send Fli to Eastern Spices in Portsmouth but even that is time/parking/fuel etc. WOULD YOU LIKE TO ORDER ANYTHING?PM me and I can add yours to my order and receive one delivery, as long as you come here to collect. All of this is Goks fault. Have been watching his chinese cooking series and made scrummy chinese style steak and king prawns with cashew nuts last night, we thought both dishes were much more authentic and fresh than any chinese rest we've visited here so it was a thumbs up.If you can let me know by tomorrow (Sunday) I'll be placing the order sometime during the afternoon. Happy wokking

Why don't you go to Belasie? It would cost you less in petrol, surely?

Not you, you've got an excuse - you're miles away!!! It's only about 45 mins for Ali, I think. Anyway you can get oyster sauce and some of that stuff in any old Super U usually, if not then some of the other supermarkets. Should save on postage with the weight.

Have NEVER seen Oyster Sauce in ANY supermarket here and I would love you to find it - there you are - thats this weeks challenge I don't want to drive 2 hours to get a few bits and pieces from Bel. The weight for postage is irrelevant. £11.50 covers it all. With the PMs so far I have about 1/2 a tonne to order from the uk Hey, I no WOK for this company.

I do not have the time to invest. Do you know how much fuel costs these days? The weight for postage is irrelevant. £11.50 covers it all. With the PMs so far I have about 1/2 a tonne to order from the uk Hey, I no WOK for this company, I only offering help to us here - crikes. Seems logical and cost effective to me £11.20 is nothing compared to cost of the travel and the time also I bet the goods are a lot cheaper too

Well if you drove the 2 hour round trip to St Gregoire and went to Geant (is it Geant? I forget) you'd find an aisle with loads of asian stuff including about 5 different varieties of fish sauce alone..... but then you may as well go to Belasie (which sells all of that stuff and tons more) which is just around the corner! I buy light soy sauce in supermarkets and I'm sure plenty of them like Carrefour sell oyster sauce - they usually have quite a good range of Asian ingreds. I guess it depends which supermarket you go to. And yeah I missed that bit of your post.

By the time I'd finished all that it would have been 4 hours No way. You could go for me I suppose? With other forum orders the total postage came down to £7.50 direct to my door and including stuff I've never even heard of least would know what to do with Subject closed - goods are on their way and am well chuffed.
