Thought I'd start a thread on my latest wine making exploits.
Thanks to Donk and Hellfire I'm now pretty well set up and have my first year under belt.
Previous 2011 concoctions are: Rhubarb Apple Ginger Mixed red fruit
and each of those are now bottled and in the 'cave'.
I've got 2 batches (different receipes) of 2012 Rhubarb on the go and NEW FOR THIS YEAR is Parsley wine.
Thought I'd take some pix and add to them as things progress....
The first is of the raw ingredients in the pan: 1/2 kg of Parsley, orange and lemon peel (no pith) and about 4 litres of water....

Then 20 minutes later .....
Then...
Let it cool, take out the big bits and stir in 1 3/4 kilo sugar and the juice of the 2 oranges and 2 lemons ...

added the yeast, left for 24 hours in a clean bucket with lid on, then funelled into demi-john. Within an hour its bubbling away. The air-lock often gets crud up it, just a case of taking it off, washing it out and replacing Doesn't look like soup any more ;D
