Hi folks, we really love sweet potatoes and would love to try growing our own. Has anyone had any luck doing so over here in France? If so do you have any tips and where did you get your "slips" from?
Many thanks YP

I have asked this question before as I found the sweet potatoes here had "stringy" bits in both me and the kids hated. I was told it is possible but in Brittany/Normandy it needs to be one very good summer and they need plenty of water also lots of room as the potatoes grow on vines. Having said that I think I could possibly grow them here as I seem to be in micro cilimate as at the weekend it was in the 40°C's in the sun........... When every one else had rain the coulds went round us you could see it at either side!!! Maybe a little late to start this year no idea of growing times.

I've managed to grow 'slips' from shop bought ones, but the weather has never been quite hot enough to grow the 'fruits'
