As I was preparing dinner for Mrs Sooty while she was out, I thought it would be good to add a few tips here for my fellow male cooks.
1. White wine does not need to be uncorked to allow it to breath, but if you do, two glasses is about the right amount to sample it.
2. Do clear up as you go, a pile of dirty dishes and pans covering all the worktops or you will lose you all the brownie points that you were trying to collect.
3. Do not check the recipe on the PC then answer a few emails while you are waiting for the oil to heat up.
3. The best way to remove a cloud of smoke from the kitchen is to open all the windows and doors. Do not rely on the poxy fan above the oven.
4. The telephone number for the Pompiers is usually on a list near the phone.
