Most of you know how much I love wildlife, and cattypillars, birds and stuff. I'd never seen a Siskin, until yesterday. They are yellower than a greenfinch and smaller. The females are very stripey and pretty. So yesterday, I was pleased to see one, today he's brought about 8 mates with him! They love sunflower seeds.

Oh aren't they lovely, lucky you! I've been hanging up fatballs as well as sunflower seeds but something is climbing up the tree at night, biting through the string & chewing the net open & scoffing the lot...

Love siskins! such pretty birds.
Jackie - it might be a magpie as we've had them fly off with a whole fatball from here.

Welll......... see the black girlie doggie on left of my avatar? She's chief nicker of fat balls off birdie table!
Was watching Autumn Watch last...well....last Autumn and the really good looking bloke there said not to keep the string on the fat balls as the little birds feet get caught up in the string. Since then we've pruned the strings off.

Ever get the feeling you were born 10 years too early, or too late?!!!
