This is really a message for Ali - to remind her to save some seeds from the little yellow plum shaped tomatoes for next year. What I do with tom seeds is to put them to dry on a piece of kitchen roll - then when dry I put seeds and kitchen roll in an envelope and mark it so I don't forget what I've saved.
I've just done mine and already gathered all sorts of flower seeds etc - anyone more suggestions from anyone?

Very funny, Panj - I've just had a T&M delivery - but I don't know the name of this particular variety of toms so have to keep growing from the previous year's seed

Drat and double drat - they've all gone LK, didn't think of doing that. Have saved some Cucurbita Maximas seeds if anyone is interested I'm not buying from T&M anymore, the things just don't want to germinate for some unknown reason whether it's old stock being flung out to France or what I don't know.

I am going to save some tomato seed too! All this thing about F1 seeds not coming true - the self seeded tomatoes in the veg patch were identical to the parent plant bought last year. The best one I have is a red slightly oval cherry which is called Apero. Sadly the Sungold never self seeded as I couldn't find any plants of that in the garden centres. I'll also keep some of Noire de Crimee and Ananas, which are not F1 anyway, but heirloom varieties.

I already have a load of plants for Dave the Brave's new build house garden (he's from Grumpy Gits), a lot of which were shrub cuttings from Ali's garden, and gooseberries for Sandra/Double Cream (these are the cuttings from Donk). I love all this sharing but it does mean extra watering for me looking after plants for others - but I have really reaped some amazing benefits from all the plant swaps - I think they are GREAT! I also have saved seed from Lurcher's poppies and corncockles so more to pass around next year to whoever would like. They've even been sent to Wales!

Lovely idea LK, perhaps we should move towards your direction this time, we've done 50, 22 and 35 perhaps we should travel a little towards 56.... The 'Swap Road Show' Thats got me inspired now to take some hard wood cutting of things, got some beautiful roses (Gertrude Jeykll (spl) ) being one and all sorts of shrubs and of course it will be seedling time too.

Does that mean I'd better take some cuttings of my hardy fuschia? Or is everyone all fuschia'd out?
