was brilliant Just returned from a quick shop (yeah right - list of 5 things came back with 500) Within the 'not on the list' purchases were Pukka Pies, sausage rolls, and some English sossidges all courtesy of the Barenton people - well done Barenton Bought nearly 9kg of prepared (ie jointed and things) pork on special at 2,60 per kg which is going into the freezer in the next 1/2 hour. Love retail therapy ;D ;D

Is this Barenton stuff being sold in your hypermarket?

Yup, has been for a while. This intermarche is a hypermarche, the large format, it carries bigger range than the intermarche 'contact' one near you.
S'got proper bacon in frozen packs, smoked and normal, wensleydale, cheddar, cheshire and lancashire cheese all in the normal shopping aisles.
Its the one over at Pleine Fougeres (Pontorson).

Have never tried a Pukka pie, so don't know what I'm missing. We've run out of English sossidges (well, eaten them actually ) and know which French ones we like - but we did the pork thing too and have a freezer full now

I have plenty of sossidges and wensleydale etc in the freezer as my bro' always brings them over but it's good to know you can get them 40 mins away!
Have noticed our Super U now has cheddar in packs in the normal packaged cheese aisle now - and it's much cheaper than when it was sold uncut on a cheese counter.
Still very expensive though so I stick with Cantal Entre Deux until Lidl have cheddar in their English promos which is even cheaper than Cantal so we mega stock up then!
Amazed by a supermarket in Pontorson selling so much fresh 'English' stuff though - it's not like this dept is Little England like Central Brittany. ;D
