If the leaves belong to it would it be a wild orchid??? Do they have roots, tubers, or bulbs on the soggy end?

Attention - all orchids are protected species and should not be picked or dug up. Ah, didn't know that, if I said it was just laying on the ground would I be believed? Don't know about the soggy end Ali as it was just laying on the ground.

No Ian not soggy, they seem to always grow on the rim of the drainange ditches.
We have a lot more of them this year because the commune hasn't mowed the verges and cleared the ditches as in previous years.

It's wild snapdragon - google it - even the leaves are the same.
