......and I'm not ready! Lifted the garlic today and strung it up on a 30ft clothes line to dry out. Noticed a lot of peas need harvesting, the pak choi has gone mental, the raspberries and second lot of strawbs, blueberries, blackcurrents, redcurrents, black gooseberries, josta berries all need picking in and freezing and I don't have any bags yet!!!
I'm not even going to start with what needs picking, washing, blanching and freezing yet!.....Donk

It's all going mad here, too, donk - may I suggest you forget the placcy bags and buy a vacuum packy thing? We bought one for under 50 euros - it came with two rolls of plastic - and we've bought another couple of rolls since but not needed to use them yet so have them for this year's harvest.
I've packed lots of liquid stuff in them as well as veg etc. Because they pack flat you can get loads more in the freezer - we've done soups, pasta sauces, passata (or however you spell it!) and they all pack flat. The maximum size ours does is about a 30cm square - and that holds a generous portion for two to three.
Happy harvesting ;D
btw - if you want to freeze mange tout, just blanch for half a minute, cool and freeze quickly and when you want to eat them just steam for half a minute.

Pak choi goes mad if sown before the longest day - it needs shortening days to be at its best.

My pak choi was looking all beautiful and purple and the next thing I knew there were flower buds all over it! ;D I don't blanch a thing - who has time for that and it makes no difference IMO. I have been harvesting and freezing fruit for weeks now!! It's all go and I haven't even finished planting out the annuals yet - crazy year this.

Crikes Donk no wonder you've been quiet S'brilliant to go down to the potager with a basket and come back up with fresh produce isn't it. I've got so many 2nd hand jars now that I'm feeling more experiments coming on Last years toms are still perfect in them. The blackberries here are looking fat n juicy again this year, not ready yet tho (if anyone wants a root or two let me know)

No more blackberries for me , I'm already wondering where I am going to put 7 gooseberries! If they (the goosegogs) produce like my currants do then I only want 2 bushes and that will be more than enough!

I more or less follow the old dictum of plant on shortest day harvest on longest, for shallots and garlic, but the moon and weather have to be taken into account too. I couldn't decide to harvest garlic , or give it another week, so have done half!! Still time to get another row of wrinkle-seed peas in, but Tagine has eaten all the runner beans; time to sow more, d'you think?

I'd suggest there's nothing (but a few seeds!) to lose by sowing more runner beans, troll. My neighbour's were eaten by rabbits a couple of years ago and she sowed again and was still enjoying beans in October.
