Oh dear! It would perhaps be a bit ungracious to mention that there's a shoulder of lamb roasting in my oven even as I type these words... Well, it was on offer, forequarter at €5,40 and hindquarter at €6,90 the kilo, and as I had space in the freezer... But young goat (less that year old) is delicious, and can be used instead of lamb in lots of recipes, including roasting, casseroles, cous-cous, etc. Any older than a year, and it tastes a bit gamey.

NAW!! GFI mate.. xxx(hate Ya ok xxx)
Trouble here is that what I have seen of the availablility of goat is in the frozen meats section in a few supermarkets is very small and who can say as to what and how old it is?? MMM
The local meat market is like going back to the uk in the pre 1960's as to health and hygene rules, in summer (mmm ok enough lol).. But we have found a small local butcher in town who deals with a few local farms for his meats and todate we have been very happy with his meats and although he is more expensive than other places, what we have had from him has been first class in quality and quantity. Its just like being where you are!!! when you find good sorces of products with good service..even if you have to go a bit out of your way to get them.. you do.. Will find some good young goat sometime soon... and enjoy simulated lamb cassssssssss mmmm
And TJjjjjjjj... I gonna nick that that snifter boy!!! so you had better sleep with it toooo and watch out for Stav!!! he's got his eye ball at it as well!!
