I have some bought supermarket spuds here which are sprouting and soft. can I just bury them in a pile of waste earth and reap tonnes of spuds from them later this year?

Yup guess so Will be planting out tatties here during the coming week. Dig a line and bury them s'pose about 5" down, then cover um up, then when they show leaves (green things) bury the leaves under more waste earth in mounds over them. Then, this is supposed to keep your new tatties from going green as they are under loadsa earth. When you see leaves again (after burying the first time) leave them to grow up,they'll then flower and when they flower is about time to dig up new tatties.
