When we switch our telly on we are just get the sound and no picture. We have to keep switching it on and off until eventually we get sound and picture. Do you think this is something easily fixed or should we just give up and buy a new one?

our's did the same , took it to local agent and he fitted new starter kit cost about 40€ as far as I remember that's 3 years ago , still going strong,it's a thompson BTW bought in 2001

Does it do it whatever you're trying to watch?..
If it works OK on "TV" but you have the problem when your trying to watch through an external bos the give your SCART leads a wiggle often fixes it.
If you're sure it's in the workings of the TV then take a decission as to whether it's worth taking to a repair man baring in mind he'll probably charge you €50 just for you to sit it on his counter.
