Thai prawn curry suffused with home-grown green chilli. It's subtle, I'm told, to throw a whole chilli in, uncut.
With a pouch of microwavable rice - it's not worth faffing about rinsing rice for one...
All a bit girly, really, especially with half-fat coconut milk, but I don't stay as lean as a whippet for nothing...
ps: I could've said less about my dinner tonight. Why say less?

...and why not say something about tonight's dinner as well.....?
Chicken casserole made with cheap chicken portions, unhealthy, hormone-injected mass white protein - what's not to like???
Teamed with steamed potatoes dug fresh from the earth, and grown by my own hand in sh*t - on balance, is this ok with the food nuts, eco-warriors and saviours of the planet? Am I right-on enough, cos I really would like your approval....?
ps: It's all very well a sad-act singleton like me expresses his views, but where, oh where, is the gorgeous pouting sabjac??? Compared with the kitchen goddess that is sabjac I am a culinary numpty. Where are you sabjac? Shake your booty in this thread, oh gorgeous pouting one, and don't complain about there not being enough going on. There'd be more going on if you, personally, posted....

Cheap-poo frozen pizza with cheap-poo frozen chips, accompanied by a (girly) mixed salad...
I would like to add that the pizza and chips are to be oven-cooked before eating, and not eaten raw, lest there be some misunderstanding about just how bad I sometimes eat....
I remain svelte and lean as a whippet. I've had a hard, physical day. Work that body, then eat sh*t (if you must), in that order.....

So. Bunty cooks full-on English, follows it with full-on French. then rounds it all off with full-on English again!
I should be so lucky. Having been at work since 8.00 this morning the best I can manage tonight is
- Onion bhajis bought reduced from the hated Mr Tesco...
- With a mountain of runner beans and shredded courgette grown by me...
- and fresh bread from the local baker
- and red wine, lots of it. No pud.
In a way I move between difference approaches as does Bunty - I go 'British' with the Bhajis but add a touch of French-style attitude by serving seasonal produce I've grown for nuppence..
The wine is all-French -' La Villageoise' brand (brought back from France by a friend who knows that I drink cheap wine - this stuff comes in plastic bottles with a screw-top.
I would still rather be eating and drinking what Bunty is...
ps: The runner bean and courgette number was laced with chilli sauce out of a bottle. This sauce killed all the flavour of the beans and the courgette. Oh well!

mmmm... Bunty seems to be doing all the running.;... I like that...
7" Yorkshire puddings are what I dream of, but there's no-one around to make them for me...
Real beef, celebrated since time began, is not what I'm cooking tonight, but I wish that I were.....
Real beef, served up "in different guises" is what I also dream of, and the French also seem to know how to do it, but that'll be because they also know how to be careful with every franc euro that they spend...
I particularly like your expression "in different guises", Bunty.
As to what I'm cooking for dinner tonight I haven't the foggiest. I'll cobble something together from what I've got hanging around., but I just know that it won't be as good as the French, or Bunty, would do.

Who wouldn't vote unanimously for roast beef sarnies and horseradish sauce - you'd have to be brain dead - but I bet that the French would add some lettuce...
Tonight I regale on Ginsters Cornish pasty and oven-cooked frozen chips - enough to make the French throw up - but I'm a sad-act, without even the time to pick some runner beans to dress up my dinner, but inasmuch as I applied what time I had to walking the dog, I accept my meagre dinner with good grace......

Left-over Indian food (probably Bangladeshi, and not Indian at all....).
Returning from a visit to Manchester I brought back with me a doggy bag. A mid-week special cost me £10 a head, including a platter of starters... Got to thinking that they can't make any money at that price.
Got to thinking that life ain't fair, and that my stupidly cheap and stupidly excessive meal was at the expense of those providing it....
The experience left me with food for thought...
ps: But I did tip well, to try and even things up a bit...
