Some of the recipes that I will post will list certain exotic ingredients. Most can eventually be found by trudging round supermarkets and local groceries, but it's a terrible waste of time and effort, and you don't always find everything you need. I buy my "exotica" every couple of months or so, in a one stop shop. The one I use is in Rennes, but I'm sure our wily witches will winnow out other wonderful and worthy shops elsewhere in Brittany! So here's the address; BELASIE 30, rue Donelière Z.I. Nord 35 Rennes
It's on the north side, near BricoDepot and Géant, and even nearer to LeClerc, nearer yet to LIDL (I know how we Brits navigate...)
It's got woks, rice cookers, curry ingredients, ready mixed or make up your own, All sorts of sauces, including soy, hoi sin, plum, lemon grass... the list goes on. You can buy nems, spring rolls, chill section or frozen... and lots more besides You can buy soy beans, yams, etc in the fresh veg section Bowls, cups, chopsticks etc to open your own Chinese restaurant
If you like Indian, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, African... you'll find pretty well everything you could need right here!
