Not entirely convinced that this is the right section to post this in...
but for anyone with an iPhone it may be handy
My iPhone packed up so. I took it into the store that supplied it. "It's and iPhone" they said "phone the Orange iPhone line on this number"
Phoned the number given they said "a replacement phone will be €125, phone this number to arrange it"
Phoned this new number, they went through the standard procedures and then said "it's broken, take it into an Apple Store, there's one in Paris and one in Montpellier" Gee, thanks for your help.
Phoned Apple in the UK to see if I could take it into a UK store (as I'll be there next week)..... No, apparently this causes problems....... No worries however they can arrange collection and repair/replace for free, or for €30 arrange a swap.
The lesson learned here is Apples customer services provide a service...... Orange don't

Thats why i have apple thingys for personal use, BartyB.
one of my daughters just takes her mac book into the london shop and they do a quick tune up while you wait for free and the teach ins in all apple shops are great, anything you want to know from beginners classes to in depth program usage; and they are free. Plus you can book places in the evening.

UPS tried to deliver yesterday when I was out and made a second attempt today so I took delivery of my shiny new iPhone today. Put the sim card in, connected it to a computer, went away and mowed some garden and when I returned all my apps, contact etc were loaded and it was as if nothing had happenned other than my phone having been given a good polish! This is the sim card removal tool as supplied
