Ha! I woz right.....
I've waited, and I've waited. Now I am to look after a dog for a couple, with a tiny infant child, for just a few months, while they return from abroad and set up home back in the UK, so that they can concentrate on that, and leave me to look after their dog...
They're paying big money to get him to the UK - they love their dog and I'll have to give him back - but in the meantime I'm a happy old man again.
Thanks, God.

Is it really two years since I agreed to baby-sit somebody else's dog....?
The dog's still with me. The original owners have since had another baby. And reached the conclusion that the dog is better off with me. 'Cos I'm now retired and have all the time in the World to look after her. And they're not and they don't...
The main thing is that the dog's happy. A rescue dog and a starvation case has landed on her feet. What she doesn't realise is that she makes me happy. More happier than the happiest happy. But she probably does know. Dogs know and sense everything....
But I still think of Jake every day.
