I have tubs 30cms diameter filled with Black Grass ( Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens') - it's not my fault that it has a stupidly long name, and you can't fault me for being absolutely precise, and therefore clear....
If I were to divide the clumps into 8, each little clump would retail for about £3.
If I were to divide them into 4, each bigger clump would retail for about £10.
If I were to put them into a nice pot, costing about £5, instead of a black plastic nursery pot, the retail price becomes about £17.50 - they become a gift idea affordable by most.
Which way do I go?
ps: While you may have no commercial ambition yourself you could buy up £3 clumps this season and grow them on - they'll do better in the ground than in a pot. You'll then have gift ideas next season, potted up. The time to think of these things is now - opportunity is unfolding before you - for a limited period only! Seize the day, Carpe Diem, cos we're all gonna die soon, etc, etc. I can't contain my enthousiasm.

I might do the maths but never the math.

Ha! Littlemouse! That the Americans continue to mess with our language, to bastardise it, is self-evident, and on which tendency I, like you, pour scorn.....
But you don't give me credit for choosing an attention-grabbing title. I work hard to excite and incite interest, with pitiable success.
Nor do you tell me which way to go. That's ok, because there's no easy answer. Am currently contemplating not selling my Black Grass at all, this season, but instead growing it on myself to increase its value for next season. Except that I'm gonna die soon, and a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush....

Black grass, used as a euphemism for something else, would have been intrigue enough.

Dear littlemouse,
Lest there be some misunderstanding, Black Grass (as painfully defined in the quoted botanical name), is not something you smoke. Getting off your head on it is not implied....
Except that it tends to make you want to wrap your loving arms around it. Except that it leads you to ask yourself is life supposed to be this good? Except that it's jaw-dropping...
So you're right. You can get off your head on it. But not in a wacky-baccy way....

Hey, United Kingdom is located in Europe. United Kingdom is considered to be a developed nation. The developmental stage of a nation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, economic prosperity, life expectancy, income equality, and quality of life. Confidus

Yo, maksm22!
I haven't got a f++in idea what you're on about, and suspect that you've been smoking too much Black Grass......
But you may be onto something. You may've thought longer, harder, about stuff than we have. Help us to get to your level!
Give us not fewer than three thousand words. Spell it out. Draw us a picture. We're slow to understand. We need help.
Thanks for posting.
