It's occurred to me since my last introductory post about Bird-Spotting that I've failed to mention sex in the topic, and, that, it's now official forum policy to do this, in every post, because we've come to understand that is what people want.
There are currently two male robins visiting my feeding station. Robins are very territorial, so it surprises me that there are two robins in the same garden. I expect to see one of them shoo-ed away by the other, because, at this time of year, they're both looking for a mate, which point leads us to declare them as dirty little buggers.....
Except that they may be gay. In which case I leave it to your imagination what they might get up to while roosting in the hedgerow. They're still dirty little buggers (even more so)....
ps: Robins are sometimes called 'Robin Redbreasts' by mention of which I allude to more sex, or titillation. This post is pure filth.

Correction: I've now learned that both male and female robins have red breasts - it's only the fledglings that have speckled breasts - and that there is only a slight difference between the breast of the male adult robin and the female adult robin...
Jumping to homophobic conclusions about two robins with red breasts is a numpty thing to do, and of which I'm guilty..
But gaydom exists in the bird/animal world as much as in our own, so we might still wonder if battiness is going on when we see two robins together, but what we really should be wondering is what does sexual orientation matter anyway?...
We can all learn from the natural world. Cos it's natural, innit, brov.

Disaster! The robins have gone and their nest is bare.
I think that a rat has had their eggs and that they've abandoned my scene. Lest we forget rats have their place, and Someone or Something moves in mysterious ways...
ps: The expression 'moves in mysterious ways' was coined by the poet Cowper (I thought that it was from The Bible). Regardless, mysterious ways are going on now, big-time, and it's humbling to see life unfurling around us, IMO....

Good news!
So while a pair of robins was denied by Mr or Mrs Rat the opportunity to recreate themselves, to continue the survival of the species, another pair, elsewhere, in a battered old shed, with holes in the cladding, have built a nest, laid eggs and are poised to maintain the status quo, even in the face of adversity from Mr and Mrs Rat....
What Nature loses on the swings it gains on the roundabouts. For every set-back there is a gain, and so an equilibrium.
A slow, steady inexorable continuation....
It's meant to be. It leads me to ask the question 'Is God great or what??' I'll never stop asking that question, when all that which I see around me confirms it...
