...not quite in the garden, but in bunches, not yet unfurled, in the supermarkets, for £1....
Who can make any money out of that? Who (EU immigrants) must work like dogs to get them to us at that price?
Putting aside the implied inequality of life's opportunity - tantamount to Man's inhumanity to Man - how come I've got so much more money than you - is it because I'm cleverer than you, or was I just born luckier than you, with a silver spoon in my mouth?.... Put aside all of that, the daffodils bring joy and hope for better things to come, for everyone.
Another year, another bite of the cherry before you die. More reasons to be cheerful. Is Life supposed to be this good? Yes it is, and Yes it is. For it is written...
ps: Oops, I've touched on 'God' here, when I've given up posting in the God Thread. That'll be because the geezer just won't go away, however much we run for cover at the very mention of His name, however much we consider ourselves above and beyond Him he just won't go away. For it is written, in the daffodils....

The snowdrops were out until they were covered by snow. Does that implie that they change their name to snowed on drops?

......no, they revert to their proper botanical name galanthus - that way no-one can be disappointed at their being covered up, it's just a temporary hiccup....
I think that Someone (or Something) sends the snow to cover them up on purpose. That Easterly wind currently blowing is freezing the soil (wind-chill factor -5) so the snow provides an insulating blanket - they couldn't grow in frozen soil could they? And snow does insulate the soil, however cold it may be itself.....
Strangeness is all around, and Someone or Something moves in mysterious ways.
