Driving home from Mohon this evening and came across a pair of martens playing in the road - they were fabulous - didn't realise they were so large

Saw one near to St Herbot running down the edge of a woods.

Ali - I was shocked at how big they were - longer body than a cat - longer tail too but a bit slimmer - they seemed so playful, and were actually very lucky I saw them and pulled up in time.

An interesting week for wildlife - few days ago we were inundated with a swarm of honey bees that have taken up residence in the gite - an ongoing problem.
However, on a happier note, this afternoon I took a walk round the small local lake - never seen anything (fish) in there, but today there was an otter - he just swam about for quite a while until he cottoned on that I was watching.
