Me and dog went up onto a high quarry near us to check on the state of the fencings for the Wild Life Trust. The previous evening I had been moaning in the pub that I had seen all sorts of orchids this year but not a single Bee Orchid. So no camera with me only the iPhone which was good enough to email pictures of fencing but not the best for other stuff. Found 3 Bee Orchids, when not looking for them and a real bee on a briar rose bush close by. Attachments:

Update - Found 3 more in another SSI Quarry close to where I look after the Cattle. So I put a ring of small stones around them so the would not be walked on. Went back on Sunday to show my wife who has never seen a bee orchid and found 32 in 7 hectare area. Never seen so many ever.
Visitors do come from lots of places to see the wild flower meadows around here esp to see the range of orchids, nice this year to direct them to sites.
Also get lots of enquires has to the best place on the river to see Dippers, appears that these birds that can 'walk' underwater are very rare elsewhere.

Those two bulls are Aberdeen Angus as are the rest, apart from one Belted Galoway.
Their job is to start to clear land and because they can stay out all winter they make an effect on the scrub and some shrubs and trees.
