I know that some of you freeload and get BBC programmes without paying the licence fee. There's the current series of HIGNFY on BBC1 - another freebie waiting to be hoovered up....
Those of you interested in politics could do worse than listen to Hislop. There are repeats on Freeview (Dave Channel) if you get that. And it's FREE (thought I'd get your attention).....
ps: There. Another new thread. Whatever else you might think of me you can't deny that I try - I've pumped out more in the last fortnight than you've done in the last year. Your forum needs you, and you it, more than you yet know.....

I don't know about freeload Annon, I pay a licence fee here in France which at least partially salves my consciense. Sometimes watch HIGNFY but it tends to be on quite late and us OAP's need our rest....Sadly Freeview isn't available over here, being a UK terrestrial service.

Only live in Brittany for the summer and have a Sky package in England. So I bring my card over here and use it to watch the same programmes as I do in England. I have the feeling that Sky aren't too bothered with this setup and I'm sure I'm not the only one to do it. My reasons for thinking Sky aren't really bothered is that years ago you had to phone them to match your card to a new box. Then you could do it online but you had to give a reasonable reason for doing it. Now you change the box online no reason required and within 5 minutes it is all done. I have even heard of holiday makers bringing their card over and switching it to the Sky box provided in their holiday let. Sorry to go off topic annon3. However, I am an avid HIGNFY watcher and love the interaction between Hislop and Merton. Only drawback, for me, is when either Brian Blessed (noisy so and so) or Gyles (he never shuts up)Brandreth are on.

I'm sure you post this sort of thing to wind us up into making more posts Annon, however since the start of 2016 there have been 78 new threads posted by various members and 5 by Annon (in various guises).

I certainly do say these things to wind you all up, sonnetpete, and don't need factual accuracy to motivate me. You'll all thank me one day, mark my words.....

I thought it might just be me . As a quality engineer I am used to people taking the .......... out of me and trying to get me to bite and thinking it is fun but tiring of this. A real shame. Dave
