According to the Bible, Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Palestine.
A country where people are named Mohammed, Abdul, Mounir, Aziz, Ahmed,
Farid, Omar, Youssouf, Mouloud, etc.
And yet he managed to find 12 friends called John, Peter, Paul, Phillip,
Mark, Thomas, Luke, Matthew, Andrew and Simon . . . who all drank wine.
Now that's what I call a miracle!

That got me wondering and I found this explanation :
"They didn't really have English names. You have been led astray by English translations of the Bible.
The apostles would probably have had Aramaic names, and they are rendered in Greek in all the early available sources.
Simon would have been Shimon. James would have been Ya'kov John would have been Yohanna Bartholomew would have been bar-Tolmay ("son of Tolmay") Thomas would have been T'oma Matthew would have been Mattay Jude and Judas would have been Yehuda
Two apostles are only identified by Greek names: Andrew would have been Andreas. Philip would have been Philippos
As for why the English versions of these names are common: the answer's obvious: 1500 years of Christianization of the English speaking people."

Magical:
O Little Town of Bethlehem (Vaughan Williams) {Hymn} [King's - 2005, № 6]
One of my favourite hymns, so calming.
O little town of Bethlehem How still we see thee lie Above thy deep and dreamless sleep The silent stars go by Yet in thy dark streets shineth The everlasting Light The hopes and fears of all the years Are met in thee tonight
For Christ is born of Mary And gathered all above While mortals sleep, the angels keep Their watch of wondering love O morning stars together Proclaim the holy birth And praises sing to God the King And Peace to men on earth
How silently, how silently The wondrous gift is given! So God imparts to human hearts The blessings of His heaven. No ear may hear His coming, But in this world of sin, Where meek souls will receive him still, The dear Christ enters in.
O holy Child of Bethlehem Descend to us, we pray Cast out our sin and enter in Be born to us today We hear the Christmas angels The great glad tidings tell O come to us, abide with us Our Lord Emmanuel
Interesting paroles....

In France they were called ...... And they all drank Saint-Emilion Grand Cru (Source of the names, not the wine, was fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douze_Ap%C3%B4tres)
