Sorry, but quite pro Facebook. It's nice to keep in touch with people who live in other countries (and in Brittany..or is that another country?). You can share photos and videos if that's what you want to do. I've never had privacy issues and keep my 'friends' to a minimum...

Threw off FB years ago. As said previously here friends of friends, what's that all about? I don't know them and don't want to know them. Had a lapse last week and thought I'd rejoin. When they asked for my mobile number (assuming I've got one) so they could send me a web address to confirm my application I backed out. It is only a means of getting your number, other sites don't need to do this. Also it is immediately displayed to one and all! You can, of course, remove it if you do a lot of jiggery pokery, but hey, is easier not to bother joining.

You don't have to give them your phone number it is an option. I have FB but only add who I like, my settings are friends only, and I am careful what I put on there. No need for a FB group just use latest threads option............no need for notifications......

As I said, to finish the registration they wanted my mobile number to send a confirmation address I had to access to join up.

FB isn't really a security risk - it's simply down to how you the user sets it up for your own personal use - upon opening an FB account everything is set to "open" - it's then down to you the user to "lock" down as much as you want - its quite easy for instance to have things visible to "Friends only" and not friends of friends etc - then the user accepts who they want as friends and exactly what info to "share" as much or as little as the user wants.
Within 10mins an FB account can be initialised and then locked down to friends only without any details visible to anyone else.
At the end of the day you have to be careful what details you post - FB can be as secure as you think think forum is - User be careful applies everywhere
oh and yes it is very quiet here - would be good to see more activity

Yes BE. My tractor apart from being a renovation project is used for cutting my field, ploughing my veggie patch, trips to the dechetterie, and anything else where moving stuff or lifting is needed. It provides me with a hobby and is a useful workhorse when needed.............I love it

I think f/b has now a billion subscribers, adverts are gradually taking it over,it is a very wealthy business, news today of brewery takeovers, into billions of £s,f/b is well up the list, advertising is obviously the way it is going and it will not be long before it is sold off, there is quite strict censoring, many young people could not live without it,i know of many prolific posters, some here in France, who have several a/cs,I.M.O.i think a great number are mentally deficients, and are likely guests on the "Jeremy Kyle show". !
