Sorry, I have been away for a while. Forgive me, I have been struggling and didn't feel I had anything positive to contribute to this forum. I am sad to see that some of the posts are 8 months old, so different from the vibrant forum I remember. What do we need to do to try and get back the wit, humour and fun that used to be prevalent here? The social aspect, the friendship, the discussions, sadly seems to be gone. Perhaps this would be a good time for everyone to put forward what they miss and how to get things back on track. Personally, I love a good discussion among other things, let's hear everyone's input to get back a lively, fun forum we all used to enjoy.

Personally I think that most folk (not me) use Twitter and Facebook now rather than forums such as this. Grumpy Old Gits is suffering from the same demise.

Some of us have a lot on and not as much time as before, but it is getting to the colder months and I think the forum will pick up. I come and go on here depending on if it is school hols (not or very rarely on here), summer, etc. Also the core membership are people who have been here a number of years and well asking questions needing friends is less "needed". Check the header of the forum, Alison who started the group and was an active member putting a lot of her personality into the group is rarely here since her change in direction and starting work. Alison if you read this maybe time to put Christmas is coming??!!! Summer is well and truely over lol. Em

Oh I looked, but didn't have anything to contribute....which is part of the problem. I do find sites like AI quiet too. There's no clear cut solution to enlivening the forum sadly. People are busy or get wrapped up with other aspects of their lives. Personally I've had loads of work to do after Susie moved in and brought two van loads of furniture. I'm sure that, come the winter the forum will liven up a bit

Maybe it is time to close this forum, start a FB group instead, when you log onto FB you are notified if something has been posted into a group you are a member of.

too many volunteers that I deal with have been removed of their position because of inappropriate FB posts, really not interested in FB one little bit.

I have no interest in FB. I did have an account years ago but I have issues with security and the idea that friends of your friends should become your friends too is bizarre to me. I value my privacy too much to get involved with these forms of social media but it is nice to see a bit of a debate forming here albeit slowly
