As an historical perpetual speeder I have now finally realised that I cannot beat the system!! I have been a 'good boy' for nearly 2 years now and religiously obey the speed limits particularly on the quatre-voies (Is this because I now have applied finally after 17 years for a French driving license?!!!) To be fair in my Jag and on my bike I have been known to go just over the limit on country roads!!! My point is the Flics have always kept a close eye on speeds around Rennes, they still will it is just up to the individual driver to decide if the rules apply to them or not!!! If the limit is reduced to 70 well so be it, drive accordingly, hopefully they will change the signs. But be careful if you use a GPS as until the map is upgraded it will still show the old limit.
It is the same when you get to roadworks on motorways the limit is 90, often there are no signs to say that but you can bet your life the Flics will have cameras somewhere to catch the unwary.
