Having no luck getting anyone to repair the camera I ordered a new one online on tuesday evening - from an online UK company Mobicity UK ...however, after i placed the order I was not sent the email confirmation as promised.
Called the company by telephone the next day and they said they had not been able to verify my bank details, so I told them to cancel the order.
I also sent an email to confirm the cancellation.....They replied to the email to confirm i had cancelled.
Today (friday)I discovered the money had been taken out of my account yesterday, so called them to tell them to return it.
However, they absolutely deny they have taken it despite my having since sent them a print out of that part of my bank statement showing the debit. Then they said it was only pending but my manager confirms it has gone, and and my statement confirms this.
Called them again and they are still denying it. They sent me a page of gobbledegook saying that they had been the ones to terminate the transaction and therefore didn't take the money.
They will not acknowledge that they had the money depite the bank statement printout
Further to that, I just google mapped their premises - 33 Arlington cresent, with the intention of asking my son in the UK to call there, but it is solely a residential street - the numbers in the street only go up to 32 and they give their address as 33 - spooky eh!
Any suggestions...

They seem to have mixed reviews online.
Did you pay by credit card or PayPal by any chance?

Mixed, but not very mixed i think Pandj - mostly bad (to very bad)
Actually I paid with my CMB gold Mastercard which look,s to everyone outside France, like a credit card but is actually a debit card.
The morning that i cancelled (wed) i went to the bank to put a stop on the payment - I later got an email from my manager saying it wasn't possible to do that - but at that stage I wasn't really concerned because I had cancelled the transaction and by then no payment had been taken.
My Gold card covers me for travel insurance and some other stuff but I have a nasty feeling it won't cover this.
OH has emailed trading Standards but I don't think they actually take individua action.
I am so furious - not that they made a mistake - anyone can do that - but that when you try to discuss it with them, their only reaction - despite the evidence - is, 'we haven't taken any money'
The small claims court is a possibility but it would cost memore to go to the UK than the claim - wondering if I cold claim travel?
